Further Information
Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council prides itself on being a great place to work where staff are trusted, valued and supported to make a positive contribution at work.

The SEND Inclusion and Vulnerable Learners Service have an exciting opportunity available to recruit a Caseworker to work in the Vulnerable Learner's team.

We are looking for a passionate, motivated and well-organised individual who has knowledge and relevant experience of working with schools and vulnerable learners who may be at risk of exclusion, have low attendance or are not engaging fully in education.

Candidates should be fully committed to supporting the outcomes for children and young people in Stockton so that they are able to access, attend and receive a full-time education that meets their needs and helps them to flourish and reach their aspirations.

A caseworker will have the ability to work proactively with all agencies, families and schools to ensure a pupil is fully supported. They must be able to manage and prioritise their own workload, be solution focused and have a commitment to learning new skills.

The successful candidate will work within the locality team which supports schools, pupils and their families. This team
works alongside schools and families to ensure pupils have good attendance and are also fully engaged in education whether they are on the roll of a school or are electively home educated. They also support schools within a locality to be able to meet the needs of vulnerable learners especially those with social, emotional and mental health needs.

This post has been identified as suitable for flexible working which enables the post holder to work 40% of their working time away from the office.

We offer an excellent total reward package including a competitive salary, generous Pension Scheme and annual leave entitlement as well as access to a number of additional employee benefits and a wide range of learning and development opportunities.

If you would like an informal discussion about the posts, please contact Claire Tiffany (Service Lead – Inclusion and Vulnerable learners) on 01642527191
