Higher Level Teaching Assistant (Stanley Unit.)

Required for September 2022

Horizons Specialist Academy Trust consists of six Academies and one Sixth Form across the Tees Valley area serving a population of approximately 700 students aged 5 to 19 with a broad range of learning difficulties.

Hollis Academy is an SEMH provision and is expanding to include a class of year 7 students with ASD and SEMH needs.

This group of children will receive an education to meet the needs of both ASD and SEMH behaviours. While the children will be on the roll of Hollis Academy, the provision will run along the school day of the Fairfax provision (the Trusts’ ASD provision based in the grounds of Hollis Academy) and use the expertise of the Abbey Hill staff team to develop a bespoke curriculum.

The successful candidates will work with young people at KS3/4 who can present challenging behavior and previous experience of working with students with SEMHD and ASD would be desirable but not essential. Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential requirements of this post.

To obtain an application form and further information please e-mail Julie Povall, HR Clerk on julie.povall@horizonsacademy.org.uk. Please do not contact Archway Academy directly.

Completed application forms should be returned by 12 noon on Friday, 1st July, 2022 to:
Julie Povall, HR Clerk, c/o Abbey Hill Academy or by email to Julie.povall@horizonstrust.org.uk.

Horizons Specialist Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and prompting the welfare of children. Any offer of employment will be subject to a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check and appropriate references.
