The Economic Development Team carry out a range of functions including Business Engagement and Support and Training and Employability. The team also leads on inward investment and business growth across the Borough including working alongside other service areas to explore and undertake direct interventions and developing plans for a more inclusive economy.

The project that best demonstrates the team’s commitment to inclusive growth is the development of an Employment and Training Hub, which caters for people from 16 years and over and aims to engage and support them into employment, up-skilling/re-training and other additional support services, also offering support to businesses for all their recruitment and workforce planning needs.

The team has a significant role to play in providing business intelligence so that interventions, direct or otherwise, are evidence led.
