Are you a dynamic and enthusiastic individual looking for an exciting opportunity to work within a historical, multi-national award-winning market service? Then this could be the perfect role for you!

We are currently seeking to recruit an Assistant Market Manager to join our team and contribute to the vibrant and diverse outdoor markets in Stockton, Billingham, and Thornaby. This a dynamic role that will suit an individual who loves to work outdoors, with an outgoing personality that thrives in the hustle and bustle of busy and atmospheric environments.

Key Responsibilities of the Role include:

As an Assistant Market Manager, you will report to the Markets and Town Centre Cleansing Manager and be responsible for the operational and strategic management of Stockton Borough Councils outdoor general markets at Stockton, Billingham, and Thornaby, in alignment with the Our Markets Matter II strategic plan and the Market Regulations and Design Guide 2023. You will be a focal point of contact for the effective communication and engagement with market traders and the public. You will be given the freedom to design, produce, and monitor content on the three markets' social media pages on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, to attract and recruit new market traders, engage with the community and promote market activities.

You will assist in planning and delivering market-associated events to enhance the market experience and attract a wider audience. Collaborate with the Care for Your Area and Civic Enforcement Service teams to ensure the effective delivery of these services within Stockton Town Centre, contributing to the overall cleanliness, safety and appeal of the area.

If you are passionate about enhancing the vibrancy of our markets, have excellent organisational skills, and a flair for social media management, we want to hear from you!

This post has been identified as suitable for flexible working which enables the postholder to work a percentage of their working time away from the office, but this will fit around the delivery of the market service.

In return we offer an excellent total reward package, including:

• Opportunities train and learn with the support available for career progression.
• Flexible Working arrangements –working onsite at the three market towns of Stockton, Billingham and Thornaby, across Council offices in Billingham and Stockton and the ability to work some of your time from home.
• 27 days annual leave per year rising to 32 with 5 years service. Ability to purchase additional leave is also available.
• Generous Pension Scheme through the LGPS with ability to pay extra and plan for retirement
• Access to a number of employee benefits including an employee counselling service, Physiotherapy, salary sacrifice Car Lease Scheme and more.
