We are excited to expand our Residential offer with the development of children’s homes within South Tyneside.
 
We are seeking to recruit Children’s Residential Childcare Officers to work with young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
 
As a Children’s Residential Childcare Officer, you will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality children’s residential provision including working directly with children and their families.  The residential care staff are an integral part of the Care Team and work alongside other professionals to support children, young people and their families to achieve the best possible outcomes by using a range of intervention methods and approaches. The role will support the service to achieve its vision of providing high quality care to children and young people within a residential setting.
 
About You:
  • You will have a Level 3 or 4 qualification in Children and Young People (or willingness to undertake).
  • You have previous experience of direct work with children and young people and their families.
  • You can demonstrate an ability to place the child/young person and family at the centre of all practice and decision making.
  • You are able to undertake shift work, including sleep-ins, weekends and bank holidays.
  • Experience of working in a children’s residential setting is desirable.
