Required on a casual / seasonal basis

We are seeking to recruit Examinations Invigilators to assist in the running of internal and external examinations.  The role would be ideally suited to applicants who are able to work flexible daytime hours.  The post is on a casual basis, throughout the academic year, involving morning and afternoon sessions as directed by the Examinations Manager.

Hebburn Comprehensive is an 11-16 school, with a pupil population of 949, which is increasing rapidly.  We are a ‘good’ school, where the emphasis for all is on learning and achievement, where pupils feel safe and happy and where a culture of success and ambition is embedded and celebrated throughout the school and wider community.  Our central aim is to raise the aspirations of all our young people, inculcating a respect for one another and for the values of learning, citizenship and tolerance.  We remain resolute in our conviction that the education we provide must be inclusive, ambitious and designed to meet the needs of all pupils.

South Tyneside Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.  We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) disclosure will be sought along with other relevant pre-employment checks.

In line with the guidance in Keeping Children Safe in Education, schools may carry out an online search as part of their due diligence on shortlisted candidates.
