An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified and registered social worker to support adults who are homeless or in temporary accommodation.

This role will involve a significant amount of assertive engagement, direct time spent with service users and the opportunity to work flexibly and creatively to support the adults. This role will include assessment of mental capacity issues, assessing needs for care and support and responding to, and coordinating, safeguarding enquiries under Section 42 of the Care Act 2014.

You will work mainly with adults in temporary accommodation who have additional needs such as mental ill health or substance misuse. You will support the social workers in the adult community and mental health social work teams offering a co-working/ scaffolding approach. You will work closely with temporary accommodation providers and treatment and recovery services.

Social work supervision will be provided by a Social Work Team Manager within the Drug and Alcohol or Adult Community Team. You will receive access to relevant training and support from the wider social work team.
