Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Deputy Head Teacher to join our dynamic leadership team. This would be an ideal opportunity for a current Deputy Head Teacher looking for a role in a larger school. The successful applicant will be enthusiastic, motivated and committed to ensuring the active participation, learning and achievement of all pupils in our inclusive school.
 
The Deputy Head Teacher is an operational and strategic role; the successful candidate will take a proactive and hands-on approach to school operations and school development. This is a senior post, non-class based, within the school’s staffing structure. This post holder is accountable to the Headteacher and will work in partnership with the Head Teacher, senior leaders in the school and across the Trust, the Local Governing Body and the Central Executive Team to ensure the continuous improvement of the schools within the Trust.
 
The Deputy Head Teacher will carry out the duties of this post in line with the remit outlined in the current School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document including the conditions of employment for Deputy Head Teacher and the Trust’s own policy.
 
Under the overall direction of the Headteacher, the Deputy Head Teacher will play a lead role in:
  • Strategic leadership and management
  • Leadership and management of pupils’ attainment and progress
  • Leadership and management of staff
  • Leadership and management of the curriculum
  • Leadership of learning and teaching
  • Leadership and management of SEND provision
  • Leadership and management of pastoral care and safeguarding
  • Advocating for Prince Regent Street Academy Trust
