About Adoption Tees Valley
Adoption Tees Valley is the Regional Adoption Agency for the five local authorities of Tees Valley comprising, Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland, and Stockton-on-Tees. Based at our dedicated Adoption Centre in Stockton-on-Tees, we provide a comprehensive adoption service across the region.

Our service recruits, prepares, and assesses prospective adopters for children with adoption plans across the five local authorities. We also provide specialist adoption advice, receive referrals for children requiring adoption placements, undertake family-finding activities in partnership with children's social workers, and coordinate the Adoption Panel function on behalf of all five authorities.

About the role
As a Business Support Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day administrative functions of Adoption Tees Valley. Working from our Stockton-based office, you will provide high-quality business and administrative support to the wider team, helping to ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of services.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Providing an exceptional administrative support across the service.
  • Maintaining the excellent first point of contact and high-quality customer service provided at ATV.
  • Responding to enquiries and referrals from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records using a range of business systems.
  • Preparing and distributing confidential documentation.
  • Taking accurate & timely minutes at meetings, including Adoption Panels using supported notes to further improve the efficiency and quality of meeting records.
  • Supporting the organisation and coordination of the various activities and events held at ATV.

You will receive regular supervision, support, and training to help you develop and perform effectively in the role.

Previous experience in an administrative or business support role is essential, and experience of minute-taking would be advantageous.
