Fixed Term post for 6 months

Secondments welcome. Please seek approval from your Line Manager before applying.

This is an exciting development opportunity for someone to be involved in the development and writing of the Health and Well-being Strategy, our go-to plan for how we are tackling the big health and wellbeing issues in South Tyneside, as well as the Director of Public Health report and other related documents.

Working with the Public Health Team, partners across the health and care system and academics, the role will entail the coordination of community-insight activities, interpretation of evidence and translating findings into a key Strategy document. The post-holder will learn about more about Public Health beyond its COVID-19 response duties, the social determinants of health and qualitative research as well as working with stakeholders across the council, voluntary and community sector and other organisations.

The role will require project management skills, policy writing and ability to engage a range of audiences. You do not need direct public health experience, but we want your curiosity and willingness to learn.

For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Anna Christie on (0191) 424 6678 or email: anna.christie@southtyneside.gov.uk

Closing date: Noon, 26 April 2021.

Interviews are to take place week commencing 10 May 2021.
