Redesdale Primary School is seeking to appoint a skilled School Business Manager to join our team. This is an opportunity for a candidate with financial, organisational, and leadership expertise who is committed to supporting effective school operations and contributing positively to the overall success and wellbeing of our pupils and staff and wider school community.

The Role
Working closely with the Headteacher, the School Business Manager will:
  • play a key role in the planning, monitoring and evaluation of the school budget, and the management of expenditure from said budget
  • take responsibility for the management of health and safety within the school and the management of facilities including the use of premises and associated income
  • be responsible for the design and effective operation of administrative procedures
  • be responsible for the arrangements and overseeing of major building works and projects
  • promote a positive, inclusive school culture where every member of the school community can thrive
  • show a willingness to contribute to other areas of school life and enthusiastically promote the school to the wider community including devising marketing and promotion strategies
  • be confident in recognising their own strengths and areas of expertise and using these to advise and support others 

The ideal candidate will:
  • have a full working knowledge of relevant policies / codes of practice / legislation and possess the ability to interpret advice / statute and to devise policy / practice considering the above
  • have experience working in a business environment at a management level
  • be able to deal sensitively with people to investigate, resolve problems and make decisions
  • be able to be positive and resilient in the face of demanding situations
  • be an excellent communicator with the ability to build strong relationships and support staff, pupils and parents
  • be confident in leading change, and identifying best practice
  • be reflective, resilient, and eager to continue personal professional growth
  • have a desire to be part of a supportive staff team and contribute to the development and implementation of the overall ethos / work / aims of our school.
