Here at Sunderland we have an impassioned vision for our city. Recently, we have achieved some major milestones including the opening of our new landmark, Northern Spire bridge and the development of the first phase of the International Advanced Manufacturing Park (IAMP), which we plan to build on this year in order to create a dynamic, healthy and vibrant city for our residents.

Our Building Control Service is currently involved in the regeneration of the city centre and Seaburn one of our seaside resorts, as well as the relocation of Sunderland Civic Centre from its current location to the Vaux site.

Our service is committed to delivering excellent service and value to our customers on all our projects from smaller residential projects to major developments. As well as ensuring safety at our sports grounds and contributing towards the creation of healthy and safe buildings.

If you are a suitably qualified and experienced Building Control Manager, who can build effective relationships internally and with partners to ensure the smooth execution of projects, as well as lead, motivate, empower and develop a team, we would like to hear from you.

Strong technical expertise, the ability to manage budgets, whilst also growing new business opportunities and developing new innovative approaches, are also essential.
