North Tyneside Council is seeking to recruit Public Health Assistants to work within the 0-19 Children’s Public Health Service. The service is based in four locality based integrated teams across the borough.

The 0-19 Children’s Public Health Service has been integrated into the Council since April 2017 and a CQC inspection in March 2018 recognised areas of outstanding practice.
We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join the 0-19 Children’s Public Health Service. The successful applicants will join a skill mix team of Health Visitors, Public Health School Nurses and support staff. They will assist the team in delivering a range services to improve health outcomes for children and families including administrative work relating to the delivery of these services and the Healthy Child Programme.
Duties will include assistance with the delivery of the National Childhood Measurement Programme (NCMP) within primary schools in North Tyneside and helping to promote healthy lifestyles for families at health events, in schools and community venues.
The post holder must be aware of safeguarding policy and procedures and understand the importance of escalating concerns to minimise risk to children.
Support and supervision will be given to assist you in carrying out your duties and to ensure you maintain professional development.
Essential criteria:
GCSE Maths and English or equivalent. Proven ability to work as part of a team
Able to plan and organise own workload. Experience of working with children and families. Able to communicate effectively with local families in diverse communities. To meet the travel requirements of the post.
