North Tyneside’s Finance team is seeking an ambitious, professional and dynamic Finance Business Partner to help the team deliver its Service objectives.

North Tyneside is a well-run Council with a track record of delivering good-quality services while managing to balance the budget. The challenge for the future will be to continue to do so despite reduced government funding and increasing demands.

The Authority has a clear strategic direction and is responding to the financial challenges though the delivery of our “Creating a Brighter Future” change programme. The overall programme looks to support our residents helping themselves and ensuring that people want to live, work and visit North Tyneside.

We are seeking to recruit on an initial 6 month fixed term basis a qualified accountant who will report to the Senior Business Partner. You must have excellent communication skills, strong analytical and financial modelling skills with the ability to work with minimum supervision. Experience should include an excellent understanding of local government finance, experience of dealing with customers and experience of projects. A good understanding of the issues facing local government is essential.
