Post title: Specialist Educational Psychologist x 2 post – full time - permanent

Job Location: Education Development Centre, Spennymnoor. However, you may be required to work at any council workplace within County Durham.

Durham Educational Psychology Service is a highly valued and expanding service. We are looking for creative and enthusiastic colleagues with good interpersonal and communication skills to join the Educational Psychology Service in Durham. You would be joining a large team that provides a wide range of specialist supports, interventions and projects within Schools and Early Years Settings within a vibrant Specialist SEND and Inclusion Service.

Within this post you will take on a specialist role supporting practice, interventions and strategic developments. We are looking to recruit experienced Educational Psychologists with experience and enthusiasm in the areas of:

1. Emotional wellbeing and achievement, including opportunities for regular and direct therapeutic involvement with children and young people
2. Cognition and learning, including opportunities to work within a multidisciplinary team

We offer an excellent induction package and supervision as well peer support and opportunities to develop projects within a specialist area with colleagues from other teams in our service. We have a commitment to supporting staff to follow their own professional interests and have a strong programme of continuing professional development.

Own transport or means of mobility essential as you will be required to travel around the Local Authority.

Required qualifications:
• A first degree in Psychology or equivalent as agreed by BPS
• Eligibility for Chartered Status (HCPC Registration)
• Approved Educational Psychology training
