Carers Together Foundation is an organisation dedicated to improving carers’ quality of life. We listen to carers, give them a voice, provide information, practical and emotional support and promote carers’ rights across the South Tees area.

We are seeking to expand our Counselling Team with the appointment of a sessional Counsellor who will provide professional counselling to adults caring for a family member or friend, to enable them to explore thoughts and feelings and to develop coping strategies relevant to their current situation.

Applicants should hold a Degree or Diploma in Counselling or Psychotherapy and be registered with and accredited by, or be eligible for accreditation with, the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) or the UK Council for Psychotherapy.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate significant experience and knowledge in the following areas:

• working therapeutically with vulnerable adults on a range of issues and in a variety of settings
• providing time-limited counselling.
• multi-disciplinary working alongside statutory services including the production of reports and attending or representing clients at meetings.
• making comprehensive assessments and understanding referral pathways

This role is based between our offices in the TAD Centre, Middlesbrough and Kirkleatham Business Park in Redcar and applicants must be able to work on either site, and to travel to other locations within the Redcar and Cleveland or Middlesbrough Local Authority areas.
