The Economic Growth Team is responsible for growing the economy of Hartlepool by assisting businesses to start up and grow and through targeted regeneration projects.

Reporting to the Enterprise Manager, the candidate will be part of the Enterprise Team that is responsible for supporting business start ups in the Town and also includes management of the Hartlepool Enterprise Centre and the BIS.

Following a multi-million pound conversion, The BIS is the Council’s flagship managed workspace facility opened in 2019 and offers a range of unique office, studio and workshop space that caters for a wide range of creative industries businesses alongside exciting partnerships with key stakeholders including the Northern School of Art.

The aim of the BIS is to develop a cluster of creative industries business to help drive forward the regeneration of the Innovation and Skills Quarter. The BIS also forms the base of our activities to support the flourishing creative industries sector.

The candidate will be responsible for the day to day running of the BIS that will include variety of admin tasks, invoicing, as well as organising business events and working on projects as part of a wider team.

Ideally suited for a graduate or an individual looking for an entry-level role in economic development, the post offers the successful candidate excellent opportunities to develop their skills and experience in administration, business support, events, marketing and project management.
