As a result of the Building Services Team expanding, we have excellent opportunities for a number of Maintenance Operatives to join us here at Sunderland City Council.

The role involves working within domestic, industrial and commercial buildings carrying out a range of technical trade activities associated with electrical, inspection, testing and installations. This includes includes annual compliance of CCTV, fire alarms, emergency lighting and intruder alarm systems. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate experience of working in a similar repairs and maintenance environment with knowledge of any of the above.

The successful applicant will possess relevant commercial and or electrical qualifications which includes testing and inspection as well as experience of working within a busy operational repairs and maintenance department.

Moving forward our focus is on improving, developing and growing the service to ensure we are providing a sustainable service to all customers.

Working within the Building Services Team, you will be provided with a company vehicle for work purposes, as well as access to standby which attracts additional payments to the salary already on offer. There is also a generous annual leave entitlement, which commences at 25 days rising to 30 days after 5 years of continuous service, in addition to this you will receive all statutory bank holidays for England & Wales. There is also a contributory government pension scheme, and access to flexible working.
