We are ready for you to join our brand-new Business and Community Response Team!

An opportunity to make a difference,
South Tyneside is where people come to make things happen,
They come here on purpose,
They come here with purpose.

We have been working hard to make South Tyneside a place where people live and work, healthy, happy, and fulfilled lives and now we have the opportunities for eight new hard-working people to join our Regeneration and Environment Team who can make it even better.

We are looking for people who are passionate about making a difference to the lives of our residents and businesses by providing them with a clean, green and connected community where they feel safe. By supporting the delivery of one of our ambitions in our Council Strategy, you will be pivotal in improving and supporting businesses and residents in our communities where they can feel safe.

You will:

• Encourage and monitor businesses and the general public to comply with Community Safety and environmental quality laws and initiatives to contribute towards improving the quality of the environment in local communities.
• Be tasked by the Business and Community Response Team Leader and Community Safety Partners and react to incidents of anti-social behaviour as they arise.
• Provide technical support across the Council’s Environmental Services functions.
• Identify and support businesses and premises not following environmental guidelines and escalate where appropriate.
• Assist in voluntary, private and public facing events to ensure engagement at all levels and a safer environment.

Do you want to work for a forward-thinking organisation that invests in the future? Local Government is a diverse and continually changing space. If you are looking for an exciting new role where no two days are the same, then South Tyneside might be the place for you. Working for South Tyneside could give you the opportunity to spread your wings, try out new things, and really have a positive impact on the things that you care about.
