An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead on The Horizon School’s approach to supporting vulnerable learners.
You will work in close collaboration with senior leaders and pastoral staff across the school, leading on developing, implementing and evaluating strategies to improve outcomes for our vulnerable pupils. This will include supporting the engagement and behaviour of pupils, gathering intelligence, identifying barriers and ensuring schools and external partners implement appropriate strategies and interventions to ensure that pupils can succeed.
You will also line manage Teaching Assistants and the school’s Inclusion Officer to ensure learners and their families have effective support, particularly in terms of social emotional, mental health, welfare and attendance.
You will have a thorough knowledge of strategies and evidence-based practice to overcome barriers to learning, in particular social, emotional and mental health needs, behaviour that challenges and engagement for young people. You will be able to evidence your successful track record of working with pupils and parents/carers to improve outcomes for attendance, welfare, behaviour and attitudes for learning. You will ideally have experience of working within the secondary school sectors or a pupil referral unit.
