Hopetown Darlington opens its doors this summer as the region’s most exciting and newest visitor attraction.  This ambitious project extends across a 7.5-acre site and will encompass a wagon themed play park, an immersive time travel experience ride, and will even include a gallery to watch live engineering in action. In addition, visitors can enjoy touring exhibitions, a reimagined state of the art museum and entertaining festivals and events for the whole family. 

A spacious café and shop are also part of this incredible site which is steeped in Darlington’s rail heritage and will offer a family day out like no other.  The venue will attract upwards of 300,000 visits annually, of which up to 100,000 are expected to be from outside the region. Hopetown Darlington is seeking inspired and driven individuals who can bring personality, energy and enthusiasm to the team.
 
The Welcome Manager team will be the face of Hopetown Darlington.  Delivering exceptional customer service, you will need to be energetic with an outgoing personality and a ‘can do’ attitude.  Working in a shift pattern across 7 days a week with a focus on weekends to ensure that the visitor experience is always at a high standard across all areas of the site. 

Reporting in to the Visitor Experience Manager, you will be responsible for managing several teams of staff including Food & Beverage, Retail, Admissions, Visitor Experience & Housekeeping.  Health & Safety & Security of the staff and visitors will be a key area of this role and will include actioning emergency procedures and dealing with first aid incidents.
