South Tyneside Care Academy is looking for an Adult Social Care Career Development Co-ordinator to support the wider development and delivery of our South Tyneside Care Academy.  Reporting to the Care Academy Manager, you will be part of a team committed to raising standards through building a strong, sustainable social care workforce and learning culture across South Tyneside.  The Care Academy is  based at The Millenium Phab Club in Jarrow however the post holder will be expected travel to events, education institutions, employers and Care facilities as part of their role so a full current driving licence or access to a means of mobility support is essential.
 
You will lead on the planning and delivery of a wide range of activities associated with the widening participation agenda, based upon local intelligence.  Supporting local people into careers within the Social Care sector is a real priority for South Tyneside.  Therefore, you will be widening access for those who are underrepresented within our existing workforce, or from lower socioeconomic and deprived areas and those from minoritised backgrounds so that we can better understand the needs of our residents and provide more effective care.  The role will involve working with people at all levels, ensuring visibility within partner organisations such as DWP job centres and employment support organisations. 
 
As part of the Academy Team, you will work in partnership with our social care partners, community and voluntary sector, education providers and local people.  Together we will lead the way to promote social care careers across the Borough and by pooling our collective expertise, creativity, and reach, we will place social care at the forefront of thinking when individuals are making decisions about their future career aspirations.
