Further Information
Bishop Barrington is a friendly and vibrant school with a highly committed staff who want the best for all our students. We require, for September 2018, a highly motivated and enthusiastic colleague to join our successful Food Department.

All pupils study Food and Nutrition at Key Stage 3 and it is delivered in two single lessons over the two week timetable. At Key Stage 4, the Department offers AQA Food Preparation and Nutrition and OCR Child Development. Both of these subjects are popular option choices and, as such, this is an exciting opportunity to join and help drive a popular subject, whilst at the same time maintain high standards of achievement.

The Department currently consists of two specialists and is supported by a full time technician.

We welcome all applications from experienced Food and Nutrition Teachers to talented NQTs, who will be given ample opportunity to develop their professional skills.

Visits to the school are encouraged and these can be arranged by emailing the Head of Department:

sarah.armstrong@bishopbarrington.net

Durham County Council is an Equal Opportunities Employer. We want to develop a more diverse workforce and we positively welcome applications from all sections of the community. Applicants with disabilities will be invited for interview if the essential job criteria are met.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Any offer of employment will be subject to receipt of a satisfactory DBS Enhanced Disclosure.

For an informal discussion, please ring the school and ask to speak with Mrs Sarah Armstrong – Head of Department

Recruitment packs are available from our website: www.bishopbarrington.net
Please return application forms FAO Mrs S Armstrong, email address as above.
