Durham Educational Psychology Service is a highly valued and expanding service organised in 4 Locality EP Teams. We are looking for creative and enthusiastic colleagues with good interpersonal and communication skills to join the Educational Psychology Service in Durham. Durham’s Educational Psychology team provides a wide range of interventions and projects within schools and Early Years Settings. It sits within the broader context of a vibrant Specialist SEND and Inclusion Service with a range of psychology led multidisciplinary teams offering excellent professional development and career opportunities. A successful applicant would be expected to provide a good balance of early intervention and preventative services in addition to some statutory work.

We offer an excellent induction package and supervision as well peer support and opportunities to work into range of projects and specialist areas. We have a commitment to supporting staff to follow their own professional interests and have a strong programme of continuing professional development. The Service has a central office base with opportunities for hot desking and is supported by a dedicated business administration team.

Salary: Soulbury Scale A Points 2 to 7 with corresponding salaries £40,136 - £49,714 (plus SPA points up to £54,959).

Applicants require a first degree in Psychology and a recognised post graduate doctorate qualification in Educational Psychology or will have this qualification in September 2021 and be able to meet the requirements for registration with the Health Care Professions Council.

Applicants must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), or, in the case of trainee EP’s, expecting to have their registration confirmed following the completion of their recognised training course.

It is anticipated that interviews will take place virtually on Friday 12th February 2021.

The post will be based at the Education Development Centre, Spennymoor, DL16 6YP. However, you may be required to work at any council workplace within County Durham.

Own transport or means of mobility essential as you will be required to travel around the Local Authority.

Removal, lodging and separation expenses may be available to the successful candidate if at the time of application for appointment their place of residence is outside the administrative area of County Durham and in excess of 30 miles in a straight line from the their new administrative centre, along with a number of other criteria for eligibility.
