Part-time 24hrs permanent

Salary: £18,933 - £19,698 pro rata to hours worked
(an hourly rate of £9.81 rising to £10.21) i.e. Grade 3

We are looking to appoint a Caretaker - Domestic Support, 24 hours within Hawthorn House, a unit which provides an extremely high standard of care in a short break/respite setting for people with learning disabilities in Durham.

The postholder will undertake a range of duties relating to maintaining the cleanliness, safety and security of the building. They will carry out basic repairs and maintenance and to ensure all issues relating to the safety and security of the building and its grounds are acted upon swiftly and effectively.

The postholder will also be expected to provide support in the kitchen as required, which may include the preparation of simple meals.

The postholder will work a rota over a seven day period.

You must possess or be willing to achieve Basic Food Hygiene certificate. Experience of using cleaning equipment and materials is required.

It is anticipated that interviews will be held week commencing 13th December, 2021.

**Covid-19 Vaccination
This role falls within the scope of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) (Amendment) (Coronavirus) Regulations 2021. These Regulations require you to demonstrate that you have received a complete course of your Covid-19 vaccination, unless exemptions apply. A complete course may refer to one or two doses of the vaccine, depending on the type of vaccine. It does not cover booster doses. Extending the policy to cover booster doses would require amending the regulations and be subject to parliamentary approval.

If you are successful and before taking up the role you will be required to provide evidence of this as part of your pre-employment checks.

The appointment for this post will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure & Barring Service Enhanced level check.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake and pass a DCC driving assessment as part of our pre-employment checks.
