Catchgate Primary School are looking for a friendly and motivated person to join the team of Lunch Supervisors in school.
Hours of work are 1.5 hours daily to be worked between 11.00am and 1.00pm, start/finish times may vary i.e. 11.00am-12.30pm, 11.15am-12.45pm or 11.30am – 1.00pm.

The successful candidate must be enthusiastic and be able to build and maintain good relationships with both children and staff. Duties include assisting with set up and clean down of the dining hall supervising the children throughout. The lunch supervisors’ are responsible for the care of children from age 4-11 over the lunch period of 11.00am-1.00pm, during this period staff are required to lead play sessions with the children. The successful candidate must be able to set up creative activities using their own initiative. Responsible for the safety and supervision of the children lunch staff are required to administer basic first aid, maintain accurate records and provide pastoral care to children. First aid and food hygiene training would be desirable but is not essential.

Duties include:

• Overseeing meal times
• Assisting children at mealtimes
• Pastoral and immediate first aid care
• Supervision at mealtimes
• Supervision on the yard
• Supervision in the classroom in wet or inclement weather.
• Setting up for lunch service, putting tables out, preparing drinks
• Tending to spillages

Candidates will have to meet the requirements of the person specification in order to be offered the post and will be subject to an enhanced DBS check. This position is paid whole time with retainer adjustments applied to periods of school closure. You will not be required to work during the school closure periods however your salary in these periods will be adjusted accordingly in line with the retainer regulations as specified in the National Joint Council (NJC) Green Book agreement.
