THE ROLE:

We have an incredible opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced Principal Auditor who has the energy and determination to drive and deliver positive change in a large, complex organisation.

Reporting directly to the Audit Manager you will have a portfolio of clients and this position is essential in maintaining the provision of the Internal Audit Services for the County Council under the Public Sector Internal Audit Standards, where you will be responsible for the delivery of the internal audit service.

The post holder will have responsibility for managing a team of auditors and will be required to:

• Provide positive leadership, clear direction, training and support to team members to ensure high levels of performance
• Contribute towards the successful delivery of the audit plan
• Provide advice and relevant, accurate and timely information and reports

You will be an effective communicator with strong influencing and negotiation skills and the confidence to hold others to account and be experienced in successfully leading, managing and motivating the Internal Audit team to deliver consistently high levels of service.

We expect you to be professionally qualified with either the AAT, PIIA, Part qualified CCAB, or other relevant qualification and professional membership and able to demonstrate a suitable depth of knowledge and proven experience of service delivery at a senior management level.

To this end, you should have knowledge and experience of a Local Government environment and will have proven experience of working with clients or executives in a supportive and constructive manner to support our aim of making a real difference to their services.

This is an extremely varied role requiring an adaptable, responsive approach, you will work to timescales and deadlines ensuring information is provided in an informative and solution focused format.
