Information Management & Data Services Officer - Temporary until 31 March 2025

This is an exciting and pivotal post within the service, being part of a team leading the future development of innovative and sustainable data improvement services across Children’s Services in Durham. This includes identification and implementation of new ways of extracting, matching and presentation of data using tools such as Microsoft SSMS and Power BI, to deliver key datasets in a way which provides insight and intelligence to support management decisions, performance frameworks and ensure robust decision making and planning across the service.

The post will be support Durham’s Children’s Care and Early Help Service through timely and accurate provision of data direct from Case Management Systems. The posts will also play a lead role in the completion of statutory returns to government departments. This will include work on Durham’s SSDA 903 return, CIN Census, Fostering and Adoption Return.

This is an exciting time within the team as we look to harness technologies to automate processes where possible and delivering real time dashboards to senior managers and partners.

The post holder will be skilled in the use of tools such as SQL, Microsoft SSMS, Excel, Power BI etc. to extract, transform and load datasets. They will also understand how data can be stored and matched between systems to allow this to be used in service reporting.

The successful applicant will hold NVQ Level 4 in Performance/data related subject or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
