We are seeking to recruit an outstanding and appropriately qualified teaching practitioner who is experienced delivering person-centred learning to children with Hearing, Visual or Multi-Sensory Impairment. The successful candidate must have a proven track record in delivering person-centred learning to pupils with complex special education needs and disabilities (SEND.

This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a child focused service which incorporates a wide range of multi-disciplinary practitioners. However, as a member of this team, you will be able to draw upon the broader expertise of the Specialist SEND Service, which includes Autism Outreach, Language and Learning, Portage, The Children’s Sensory Impairment Team and Educational Occupational Therapy. The successful candidate will also develop strong links to other services, including The Statutory SEND Team, Virtual School, IPBS, Children with Disabilities Team, therapy teams, CAMHs and CYPs.

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the direct delivery of teaching for a small caseload of children and young people within own area of specialism. The postholder will also lead both the peripatetic team and staff based in the Hearing Impairment Unit at Sandhill School, through effective operation of supervision. The successful candidate will contribute to the strategic oversight of SEND in relation to Sensory Impairment. The role is also likely to include the delivery of training to broader stakeholders in line with areas of specialist expertise.
