An exciting post has arisen in the Transformation and Partnerships Service for a Project Support Officer (temporary until 28th February 2021). The successful candidate will assist the Council in transforming its services, in order to make a significant difference for the those who live or work in County Durham.

The role is a complex and challenging one that will be highly rewarding and high profile, with extensive communication and interfacing with officers at all levels and stakeholders. The role requires excellent interpersonal skills and high levels of energy, stamina and tenacity.

Whilst the role will be located in County Hall, there will be a requirement to work with teams across all other sites within the County.

The post holder will be responsible for:

• assisting the Team Leader, Senior Project Managers/Project Managers in
project managing complex projects and programmes of work including
supporting the development of the plans, monitoring and implementation;

• providing advice and guidance on project management and systems
thinking (including Lean Six Sigma);

• assisting services to develop and manage projects so that only projects
that contribute to achieving the Transformation objectives are prioritised;

• supporting the Project Manager in providing assurance and monitoring of
transformational and MTFP projects ensuring that the corporate approach
is embedded across the Council.
