Our governors are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Level 3 SEN Early Years Teaching Assistant to join our school week commencing 1 September 2026. The post will involve 1:1 work and small group work to support the nursery and reception teachers to be able to meet individual needs.  Experience of working with SEN children and the ability to manage challenging behaviour is essential.  The successful candidate must be flexible, be a team player and have experience of working with children with additional needs.  A good understanding of how early years foundation stage works is also desirable. 
 
The successful candidate must:
  • have resilience, patience, and a warm, supportive nature
  • have confidence in managing challenging behaviours with a calm approach
  • have NVQ level 3 in childcare, or equivalent
  • have some experience of meeting a range of Special Educational Needs;
  • have recent experience of working with childcare;
  • have confidence in their own literacy and numeracy skills;
  • have the highest expectations of pupil performance; and
  • have a sense of humour. 
 The working pattern will be Monday to Friday term time plus 5 days.
