This is an exciting opportunity for a procurement professional with excellent managerial and procurement skills.
This role will have a high profile, working with Chief Officers and Senior Managers.
You will manage a small team delivering the Council’s Procurement Strategy and providing strategic and operational procurement guidance and support across all Council departments as well as making positive links with external organisations and suppliers.
This role calls for excellent interpersonal skills, a high degree of motivation and an analytical mind. You must be educated to degree level (or equivalent) and be a Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (or equivalent) have experience of EU and UK procurement legislation and policy development and have an understanding of the procurement agenda for local government. Excellent communication and IT skills are essential.
