12 Months Fixed Term position

Want to make a real difference to the lives of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in Sunderland?
We are seeking an exceptional person to fill this exciting new post!  You will lead on the implementation of our innovative Breathing Space programme and develop strategic commissioning arrangements to improve outcomes for children with SEND and their families.

Breathing Space is a government-funded innovation programme which works with the whole family to support children who may be at risk of suspension or permanent exclusion from school.  We offer fun short break activities from our 5 hubs as well as parent-carer led support and family events. As we move into the third year of delivery, we are looking to expand provision and develop robust sustainability plans for services going forward.

This will require the development of strong and effective multi-agency approaches, with the postholder working system-wide in partnership with children, families and stakeholders across education, health and social care.

You will be educated to degree level and have at least 3 years’ experience of working in an education, health or social care environment.  You will have experience of developing pathways and processes and of using your excellent collaborative and interpersonal skills to motivate and influence stakeholders to achieve shared goals.

In return, you’ll benefit from a highly competitive salary, flexible working arrangements and an agile working policy. Other benefits you’ll receive as part of an Ofsted outstanding-rated children's company include a car lease scheme and a supportive health and wellbeing programme.

For an informal discussion about the role, contact Jess Moore (Strategic Commissioning Manager) on 07500 552141.
