The Rede, Tyne, Coquet (RTC) Sports Centre is a charitable company limited by guarantee. The RTC is a community hub in the Redesdale Valley and offers a varied programme of activities and opportunities including a 24h gym, yoga sessions, boot camp, running club, football, badminton, family fun days, monthly buffet nights and an annual music festival.
The Redesdale Youth Project was established in Autumn 2015 for young people aged 10+ (school year 5+). For the last 12 months the youth project has been run by local adult volunteers and parents who have provided a varied programme of activities, including sports competitions, arts & craft activities, bush craft, archery, and geocaching. The youth project is regularly attended by 15-20 young people most aged 10-15 years old.
We are looking for an experienced part-time Youth Worker for 4 hours per week (term-time) to take a lead on the planning and delivery of our youth project throughout the year, including some summer / holiday activities. The Youth Worker will work alongside a team of committed adult volunteers who will continue to support the weekly sessions and the project’s ongoing success.
Job Purpose:
To plan and deliver youth sessions for 9-15 year olds on a Tuesday evening (6.30 – 8.30pm) at the Redesdale Youth Project, including some holiday activities / residential trips. There will be time within this role for planning, preparation and training where needed.

* 12 month fixed term with possibility of extension
* Employment is subject to an enhanced DBS check before appointment and subsequently checked annually via the DBS Update Service.
