Tweedmouth Middle is an Ofsted rated ‘Good’ mainstream school, catering for children from aged 9 – 13.

We require an Assistant SENDCo to join us at Tweedmouth Community Middle School, supporting teachers, pupils and parents in our community.

Fixed Term (January 2022 – January 2023).
30 hours per week (Term time plus 5 days)

The Assistant SENDCo is a new post which will add capacity to our SEND team. The Assistant
SENDCo role at TCMS will be exciting, interesting and varied; no two days are the same! You
will have the privilege of working with some of the school’s most vulnerable young people
and their families to help them overcome their social, emotional and academic barriers to
learning and achieve success.

The successful candidate will work alongside our SENDCo with pupils aged 9 – 13 years old. The role will involve working with children in class, delivering interventions, liaising with parents and carers, as well as supporting the SENDCo to complete SEND paperwork.

You will be responsible for day to day line management of a group of Learning Support Assistant.

You will need to have a good working knowledge of: up to date SEND policies and procedures; an
understanding of strategies that can be used to support pupils with various SEND needs;
have the ability to use your initiative and apply effective problem solving skills; be able to work as
a member of a team and sensitively understand the needs of children and their families.
