An exciting opportunity has arisen for seven Semi-Skilled Labourers to join our Property Services Team.

We are looking for motivated, skilled and customer-focused Semi-Skilled Labourers who share our commitment to delivering high standards of workmanship and service excellence.
As a Semi-Skilled Labourer, you will play a key role in delivering a wide range of labouring works across occupied and vacant properties, as well as supporting projects within both domestic and commercial settings throughout South Tyneside.
Your duties will include:
- Carrying out skilled labouring duties in a responsible and respectful manner.
- Undertaking training to meet the requirements of South Tyneside Council.
- Ensuring that the job is completed within a specified time frame, in a professional manner and to customers satisfaction.
- The appropriate driving of vehicles.
- Clearing the construction site of vegetation or carrying out any other site clearance.
- Removing old drainage or other pipework systems.
- Leading any necessary demolition required to enable site work.
- Preparing the ground for the building team to lay the foundations.
- Setting up the construction site.
- Digging trenches and laying concrete.
- Laying pavement, driveways and kerbs.
- Installing new chambers and UG drains
- Being able to use architects’ drawings and structural engineers’ specifications.
- Knowing how to operate plant machinery, including trucks and excavators.
- Working independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team to meet service targets and customer expectations.
- Prioritising workloads effectively to ensure repairs and projects are completed safely, efficiently and within agreed timescales.
- Ensuring all work is carried out in compliance with health and safety requirements, policies and procedures.
- Maintaining excellent standards of customer care when working within residents' homes and communities.
