Are you a passionate and dedicated teacher who believes every child deserves an education that is tailored to their individual needs?
The Woodlands EOTIS Service is seeking to appoint an outstanding practitioner to deliver highly personalised educational provision for children and young people with complex Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Autism Spectrum Condition, communication needs, sensory processing differences, and social, emotional and mental health needs.
This is a unique opportunity to be part of an innovative and supportive service that provides education for children and young people who are unable to access mainstream school due to medical needs, complex SEND, or through Education Other Than In School (EOTIS) arrangements.
About the Role
The successful candidate will deliver engaging, creative and highly individualised learning programmes designed around pupils' Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Working collaboratively with families and professionals, you will help pupils develop communication, independence, emotional regulation, confidence and academic skills within a nurturing and inclusive environment.
We are looking for someone who can build strong relationships, think creatively and adapt their practice to meet complex and changing needs.
Working Pattern
This post is available on a 0.6 FTE to Full Time basis, offering flexibility for the successful candidate whilst ensuring high-quality educational provision for our pupils.
We Are Looking for Someone Who:
• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Has experience teaching pupils with SEND.
• Is passionate about inclusive education and improving outcomes for vulnerable children and young people.
• Can deliver highly personalised learning linked to EHCP outcomes.
• Has excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
• Can work collaboratively with families, schools and external agencies.
• Is confident adapting learning to meet a wide range of communication, sensory, social and emotional needs.
• Has experience of working with autistic pupils, alternative provision, EOTAS and/or medical needs education.
• Demonstrates resilience, flexibility and creativity in their approach.
• Shares our commitment to safeguarding and ensuring every child achieves their potential.
Experience of working with autistic pupils, alternative provision, EOTAS, medical needs education, PECS, TEACCH or other specialist SEND approaches would be advantageous.
Location
The post holder will work across EOTIS sites throughout County Durham, including:
• Stanley Education Centre
• Greenhills Community Centre, Wheatley Hill
The role may also involve working within community-based settings, Durham County Council buildings and other educational venues across the county. Applicants must therefore be able to travel throughout County Durham.
