The post holder will be part of a busy team that deals with the payment of Discretionary Housing Payments (DHP)and the Delivery of Local Welfare Provision (LWP) in the form of Crisis Support and Community Care Support.

The role will be to mainly assess claims for LWP customers for Community Care Support and Crisis Support customers due to the increased workload and recent changes to the delivery of the scheme, within policy guidelines and to complete detailed and accurate case management files as well as recording data on monitors for the gathering of statistical information.

The post holder will also need to communicate with customers regarding enquiries and offer advice and supporting information and also liaise with internal and external services, organisations and suppliers.

The role also requires good time management skills and working to targets and deadlines to ensure good quality service delivery

The post holder may be required to deliver food parcels and food cards to customers’ homes.
