Further Information
We are very excited to be advertising the rare opportunity to join our fantastic school as a class teacher!
Required for September 2022 - Temporary 1 Year Post
Clavering Primary School is a successful, exciting and caring primary school where, as members of the Clavering Family, we DREAM, we BELIEVE and we ACHIEVE by working TOGETHER. We provide a welcoming, safe and inclusive environment where everyone is respected and learning is valued. We have high expectations in all areas and work towards developing successful, determined and well-rounded children.
As a founding member of the Well Schools Movement, Clavering is committed to both the mental and physical health of every member of the Clavering Family – including staff – and we pride ourselves in being a healthy, happy school for our children and our staff members.
Our ethos of 'Dream, Believe, Achieve Together' describes a collective determination of the whole Clavering Family to work in partnership. This is exemplified by the very strong relationships between pupils, staff, families and governors.
Our school is blessed with talented and caring staff members, at all levels, who aim to provide an excellent all-round experience for our children – both within and beyond the classroom – through the Clavering Curriculum. In addition to our statutory curriculum, we offer a range of extra-curricular opportunities and programmes (including the nationally-recognised Clavering PESSPA Programme) that enable our pupils to be active citizens, compete successfully, work effectively with others, take on roles of responsibility and develop their leadership skills. Throughout the school, there are excellent opportunities for pupils to engage in a range of additional activities, roles and responsibilities and both our pupils and their families appreciate the opportunities to go on school visits and participate in the school's progressively challenging residentials in Year 4, 5 and 6.
As a school, we believe passionately in educating the 'whole child' and ensuring that our children leave us equipped for life in a global society and work in a global economy, determined to fulfil their aspirations. Our pupils' spiritual, moral, social, cultural, emotional and physical development are all significant strengths of the school and are promoted through a wide range of activities.
Having grown significantly during the last decade both in size and reputation, we are now a two-form entry school with great staff and wonderful children who enjoy school life and have a real zest for learning.
We are seeking 2 amazing teachers who have a talent for bringing learning alive; who are successful in securing children’s excitement about their learning and holistic development; who have high expectations about what children can achieve; and who have the ability to enable children to rise to these expectations.
The willingness to contribute to the full life of the school is essential, as we pride ourselves in the wide-range of exciting extra-curricular opportunities that our pupils (and staff) get to participate in.
As an applicant, you should clearly demonstrate in your application how you are able to meet the requirements of the person specification; plus, include curricular strengths / areas of specialism and anything else that will make your application stand out.
Informal visits to the school are welcomed and encouraged. Appointments can be made for the following dates (email
